Type and pause: the card with the translation in three tones shows up here.

Three tones for every message

You don't say the same thing to a friend and a client. The card gives you all three:

Tone“Can we move the meeting to Monday?”
Casual¿Podemos pasar la reunión al lunes?
Work¿Podemos mover la reunión al lunes?
Formal¿Sería posible trasladar la reunión al lunes?

Tú or usted?

Spanish has two ways to say “you”. Tú is for friends, family, coworkers your age and most chats; usted is for clients, older people and anyone you'd call “sir” or “ma'am”. The casual and work tones use tú; the formal tone uses usted, so picking a tone also picks the right “you”.

Where to use it

On the web and on your computer

This page works in any browser, including on your phone. The Mac and Windows app brings the same card to every app: type in the chat or email, pause, and press Tab to replace. No copy and paste. That's the difference from phone translator keyboards, which only work on the phone.

Which Spanish?

Translations use neutral Latin American Spanish, understood from Mexico to Argentina and in the US. Spain uses the same written Spanish with some differences: vosotros for “you all” (Latin America uses ustedes everywhere) and some vocabulary, like ordenador vs computadora or coche vs carro. A message in neutral Latin American Spanish reads fine in Spain.

Also the other way, and to polish English

Switch modes with the buttons above the box.

How good is the translation?

It uses a language model that translates the meaning of the whole sentence, not word by word, so it handles phrases like “let me know” or “no worries”. For legal or medical documents, always have a person check.
