How it works

  1. Type or paste your sentence in the box above. Spanish → English mode is already on.
  2. Pause. The card shows “Your Spanish with accents” and, below it, the English in three tones.
  3. Click the accented line (or press Tab) to replace your text, then Copy text to paste it anywhere.

As you type, the keyboard also adds accents on the fly: a' gives á, n~ gives ñ, and ending with ? or ! adds ¿ or ¡ where it belongs. The card then checks the whole sentence and fixes anything you missed.

Why context matters

Many accent checkers just look each word up in a list. That fails on words that exist both with and without an accent, which happen to be the most common ones. Here a language model reads the whole sentence and decides:

You typeYou getWhy
esta casa esta lejosEsta casa está lejos.“This” vs “is”
tu sabes que tu hermano vinoTú sabes que tu hermano vino.“You” vs “your”
no se que pasoNo sé qué pasó.“I know”, indirect question, past tense
si, quiero mas teSí, quiero más té.“Yes”, “more”, “tea”
mi papa trabaja aquiMi papá trabaja aquí.Dad, not potato

The rules behind each case are in Spanish accent rules.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes, with a daily sentence limit on the website. The Mac and Windows app does the same in any program.

Does it add ñ and ¿ ¡ too?

Yes. Type “manana” or “como estas?” and the card returns “mañana” and “¿Cómo estás?”.

Does it work for Spain and Latin American Spanish?

Yes. Accent rules are the same everywhere Spanish is spoken.

Do you store my text?

No. It's used only for the suggestion and then discarded.
